The armored vehicle provides protection against small arms fire and small artillery debris. For self-defense, the carrier is equipped with a ring mount for one 7.62mm or 12.7mm machine gun.

The 6×6 armored personnel carrier received an OM 402 diesel engine with a 320 hp capacity, which was placed in the engine-transmission compartment in the middle part of the hull.

The vehicle has good buoyancy and is able to force water obstacles to float with the help of two propellers.
