German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius arrived in Kyiv today on a surprise visit.
According to DPA, the visit is focused on strengthening defense and industrial cooperation between Germany and Ukraine.
Germany is set to provide €11.6 billion in support for Ukraine in 2027 under the government’s new budget plans.
German Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil said the changes to long-term budget spending were made possible after the European Union approved a €90 billion loan package.
The German company ARX Robotics is also increasing its fleet of GEREON robotic ground systems in Ukraine fivefold.
The new contract comes as the Ukrainian government plans to procure 25,000 robotic platforms in the first half of 2026. The initiative aims to shift all frontline logistics operations to drones.
