Production of more than 5,000 long-range strike drones for Ukraine has begun at the joint Airlogix and Auterion facility in Germany.
The order is being financed by the German government and is worth approximately €300 million, according to Handelsblatt.
The current contract is expected to be completed by mid-2027. In addition to the facility near Munich, drone assembly is also being established at a second plant in eastern Germany.
The production program includes two different models of kamikaze drones. One is designed to strike targets at medium range, while the other has a flight range of up to 1,500 km. The systems are likely the Seth-X and Anubis.
Under the division of labor, Airlogix supplies the hardware and airframes, while Auterion equips the systems with specialized software and an operating system.
The drones will be equipped with artificial intelligence, allowing them to strike targets even in conditions of active electronic warfare countermeasures.
As previously reported, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are using the new X-shaped Seth-X strike drone against Russian forces.
