General Cherry Interceptor Drone Gets French Pixel Lock Guidance System

The French company Alta Ares and the Ukrainian drone manufacturer General Cherry have signed a memorandum of understanding regarding cooperation in the development of interceptor drones.

As part of the agreement, the parties plan to integrate Alta Ares’ software solutions, Pixel Lock and Cyclops C2, into the Bullet interceptor drone.

“This future collaboration will significantly improve the accuracy and reliability of intercepting aerial targets, particularly in conditions of limited satellite navigation availability and the active use of electronic warfare systems,” General Cherry stated.

Pixel Lock is a software system for interceptor UAVs that provides real-time detection, identification, tracking, and interception of moving air targets.

The system can operate as a visual aid for the operator or automatically take control of the aircraft and guide it toward the acquired target. Data fusion from multiple sensors and autonomous guidance algorithms enable precise interception even in the absence of GNSS signals.

Cyclops is a software system for sensor-based reconnaissance, mission planning, and UAV flight control. It enables the integration of data from various sensors, including radars and reconnaissance systems, the classification of detected targets, the prediction of their trajectories, and the generation of target designation data. Cyclops also handles the planning and monitoring of UAV missions from launch through completion. In June it was reported that Alta Ares planned to establish production of its latest interceptor drones in Ukraine.

Oleksandr Popov, owner of the Ukrainian company LATEK, which collaborates with Alta Ares, told Militarnyi about this.

“We have a cooperation agreement, and we plan to expand it in the future and manufacture their products in Ukraine. We are not manufacturing drones yet, as their models are still in the development stage,” Popov said at the time.

Alta Ares, in collaboration with Ukrainian engineers, is developing two interceptor drones: the X-LOCK vertical takeoff drone and the BLACK BIRD fixed-wing drone.

The BLACK BIRD drone is equipped with a turbojet engine and is designed for high-speed interception of drones and guided bombs.
