The United States has declared its readiness to provide Ukraine with intelligence resources and to monitor combat operations as part of a Western security plan for the post-war period.

According to the Financial Times, citing European and Ukrainian officials, Washington is also prepared to take part in the creation of a European air defense shield.

Last week, President Donald Trump assured European leaders that America would participate in the “coordination” of security guarantees requested by Kyiv to prevent possible new attacks from Russia after a peace agreement is reached.

According to the media, in numerous discussions with their European counterparts, U.S. officials have emphasized that the United States is ready to provide strategic assets – ranging from intelligence and surveillance to command, control, and air defense.

This is meant to support any deployment of Europe-led forces on Ukrainian territory.

The so-called Coalition of the Willing, formed by the United Kingdom and France, has pledged to protect Ukraine from renewed Russian aggression.

Meanwhile, European officials acknowledge that without U.S. support, their forces would not be able to operate effectively on Ukrainian territory.

According to the preliminary plan of Western capitals, the post-war security model will include the creation of a demilitarized zone, to be patrolled by peacekeepers from a neutral country agreed upon by Kyiv and Moscow.

Further along the border, Ukrainian troops – armed and trained by NATO forces – will be responsible for security.

Deeper within the country, European deterrence forces are expected to be stationed, while U.S. troops will provide rear support.

Despite this concept, politicians and the public in many European countries remain cautious about the idea of directly deploying troops in Ukraine, even with American support.

The European Coalition of the Willing has already agreed to establish coalition headquarters.
