The Ukrainian Air Force hit Russian positions in the Kherson region with a French-made AASM 250 HAMMER guided bomb.
Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, published the footage of the air strike.
One of the photos captured a guided bomb with the inscription “For the children of Odesa. With hatred, without respect”.
This is the first official photo featuring the Ukrainian Air Force using French AASM 250 HAMMER bombs.
The Ukrainian military used this guided bomb on Monday, March 4.
It targeted a Russian invaders’ facility on the temporarily occupied territories of the left bank of the Kherson region.
Prior to the strike, a Ukrainian drone monitored the Russian troops, which was probably used to determine the exact coordinates of the enemy’s location.
OSINT analysts of the OSINTtechnical project on X (Twitter) discovered that the attack was aimed at the Russian invaders in the village of Kozachi Laheri.
This is not the first time that Ukrainian aircraft have used French guided bombs. Militarnyi previously reported that the Ukrainian Air Force used French AASM-250 bombs to shell the positions of the Russian invaders on the territory of the Avdiivka Coke Plant.
A reconnaissance UAV of the LUFTWAFFE unit was used to adjust the fire.
The drone also captured a bomb hitting Russian troops. It is currently unknown what type of aircraft launched the AASM-250 bomb.
The AASM is a kit with a combined guidance system and rocket engine that converts unguided bombs into precision-guided munitions. The kit consists of a front part with a guidance system and flaps, and a rear part with an accelerator designed to increase the flight range. The firing range of such ammunition depends on the launch altitude and initial speed, but according to official data, it ranges between 15 and 70 kilometers.
