France sends first AMX-10 RC to Ukraine

France has delivered the first 14 AMX-10 RC armored fighting vehicles to Ukraine.

This was reported by the French Forces Operations media, citing its own sources.

It is noted that Ukrainian crews have previously undergone training to operate these vehicles.

They were trained by French instructors at the cavalry school in Saumur.

Previously, it was reported that France planned to transfer the first AMX-10 RC wheeled armored vehicles to Ukraine in the first half of February.

For security reasons, the French Minister of Defense did not name the amount of equipment that they planned to transfer to Ukraine.

According to the sources of Army Recognition, the Ukrainian military should receive 30 AMX-10 RC.

In early January, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the transfer of AMX-10 RC light tanks to Ukraine.

The French AMX-10 RC armored fighting vehicle is manufactured by GIAT. Due to its wheelbases, these machines have high mobility.

They can be used for reconnaissance missions as well as infantry fire support during combat.

The vehicle has a 6×6 wheel arrangement and is equipped with a hydropneumatic suspension system with variable ground clearance and inclination. Therefore, a combat vehicle can effectively hide in the terrain.

It is armed with a 105/47 F2 MECA 105mm rifled tank gun, capable of firing at a range of up to 2000 meters. The ammunition of the gun includes its own ammunition of 105×527R caliber among which are APFSDS, HEAT-FS and high-explosive.
