Four Funds From EU and USA Will Invest Over $100 Million in Defense Technologies in Ukraine

At the Defense Tech Valley 2025 investment summit by Brave1, it became known that four funds from Europe and the United States would invest more than $100 million in Ukrainian defense technologies.

This was reported by Militarnyi correspondents who attended the event.

Separately, the Ukrainian company Swarmer announced the largest public investment deal in the history of domestic defense tech.

Details of the investment deals

NUNC Capital from the Netherlands has allocated €20 million for the Venture Capital Initiative to strengthen Ukraine’s defense innovation. The current priority is to develop FOBs for investment in the local defense industry.

It has prepared a specific business case in the field of ‘New Materials’, which should allow Ukraine to become less dependent on foreign support.

Verne Capital, a German-Luxembourg venture capital fund specializing in European defense, security, and cybersecurity companies, has announced its intention to invest up to €25 million in Ukrainian defense innovations.

And the Swedish fund Varangians announced a large-scale investment plan in Ukraine and has already closed the first deal, the details of which will be disclosed later.

In turn, Oedipus Inc. has announced the creation of Europe’s first permanent capital fund focused exclusively on defense technology. The founding team has many years of experience investing in Ukrainian autonomous technologies.

Swarmer, a Ukrainian company developing drone swarm technology, announced that it had raised $15 million from US investment funds led by Broadband Capital Investments.

Mykhailo Fedorov, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, said that since 2024, Ukrainian defense companies had already attracted $90 million in investments thanks to Brave1.

“It is in Ukraine that the modern doctrine of war is being formed, where technology plays a crucial role. Our message to international investors and companies is simple: if you are not in Ukraine, you are not in the defense technology market,” the official said.

Defense Tech Valley 2025 was attended by over 300 investors from Europe and North America.
