Service members of the Unmanned Ground Systems Company of the 92nd Assault Brigade named after Kish Otaman Ivan Sirko have carried out their first successful aerial evacuation of a wounded soldier from the front line.
The Company announced this on Facebook.
The operation followed the wounding of an infantryman from the 30th Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Konstanty Ostrogski at the position.
Intense enemy drone activity and dense minefields made evacuation using UGVs impossible.
To rescue the service member, they decided to use a heavy-lift hexacopter from Gurzuf Defence, provided free of charge by a Ukrainian company.
Ukrainian specialists worked with the developers to implement technical solutions that enabled the heavy-lift hexacopter to evacuate wounded personnel without swaying or risking an in-flight rollover. Before the mission, the specialists conducted a series of tests at the manufacturer’s dedicated testing sites.
During the mission, a UAV operator from the 30th Mechanized Brigade controlled the drone. The wounded soldier was successfully transported to a safe location and is now receiving medical treatment and rehabilitation. Specialists from the 92nd Assault Brigade, the 30th and 14th Mechanized Brigades, the 10th Army Corps, and Gurzuf Defence made this unique mission possible through coordinated efforts.
