Finland is preparing its 36th military aid package for Ukraine. The decision to provide the aid is expected by the end of 2026.
Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo announced this during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on October 22.
Since the beginning of the year, Finland has provided Ukraine with five military aid packages worth more than €500 million in total. The contents of the next package are currently being discussed directly with the Ukrainian military.
“We are now working on the 36th aid package in close cooperation with the Ukrainian military. We plan to make a decision by the end of this year,” Orpo said.
The Finnish prime minister also highlighted the importance of strengthening Ukraine’s defense industry and involving the private sector. During his visit to Kyiv, companies from both countries signed seven cooperation agreements covering defense, satellite technology, critical infrastructure, and civil protection.
In September, Finland approved its 34th military aid package, worth approximately €290 million. It was the second-largest package provided since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine began. The package included weapons and other defense equipment, some of which was purchased from Finnish manufacturers.
Militarnyi previously reported that Ukraine had received the Finnish version of the Crotale surface-to-air missile system. These systems are designed to provide air defense and engage low-altitude aerial targets.
