Explosion occurs in the FSS building in Belgorod at night

At least one explosion was heard around midnight in the Russian city of Belgorod.

The incident was reported by Russian Telegram channels and on social networks.

Following the explosion, one of the streets of the Russian city was closed, and firefighters and other emergency services arrived at the scene.

Telegram channel Sota reported that the explosion took place in the FSS building in Belgorod. As a result, a fire broke out.

A video went viral on social media showing a column of smoke rising above the site of the explosion.

The scale of the destruction was not reported.

According to pro-government Russian propaganda media, the attack on the building was allegedly carried out by drones.

“Explosives were probably dropped from a drone on the FSS building in Belgorod. Smoke can be seen on the roof of one of the buildings. The road to the building is blocked. Fire and emergency services are already on the scene,” Sota wrote.

The propagandists also stated that the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs had been allegedly attacked.

The official Russian authorities of the region did not comment on the explosion in Belgorod.

The Russian media write that according to Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, nothing happened in the capital of the region.

Due to the regime of the counter-terrorist operation introduced in the city, any publications without reference to official sources are now prohibited in the Russian region.
