Drones Struck Oil Depot in Noginsk, 50 km From Moscow

Strike drones of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck an oil depot in the city of Noginsk in the Moscow region.

This was reported by Andrey Vorobyov, governor of the Moscow region.

The attack took place on the morning of July 18, 2026. Local residents reported hearing numerous explosions, after which thick black smoke rose into the sky.

The oil depot houses 24 storage tanks with a total capacity of 11,500 cubic meters.

The oil depot itself is positioned as an independent market operator. It serves as a critically important hub for fuel companies and traders throughout the Moscow region.

It is used for the storage, transshipment, and shipment of gasoline, kerosene, and diesel fuel. The oil depot is located 50 km from Moscow, in the southern part of the city of Noginsk, at coordinates 55.84404485063551, 38.43148960680574.

It is worth noting that despite the concentration of Russia’s main air defense forces around Moscow, Ukrainian drones continue to successfully strike oil refineries and storage facilities in the region and in the immediate vicinity of Moscow.

The air defense system of the aggressor nation’s capital consists of about a hundred Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems and a small number of Tor air defense systems, designed to intercept Ukrainian drones and cruise missiles.

These are supplemented by about two dozen S-400 batteries. Additionally, the Russians have reinforced their air defense with mobile fire groups.

Despite this, on June 16, 2026, strike drones struck the Moscow Oil Refinery, located in the Kapotnya district of the Russian capital.

To strike the capital region of the aggressor country, the Ukrainian Defense Forces used FP-1 drones, Liuty drones, and kamikaze-style UAVs. A couple of days later, the drones successfully struck an oil depot in the same location again.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that Ukraine had struck Russia’s largest oil refinery—Gazpromneft-ONPZ Omsk Oil Refinery, located in the city of Omsk—with attack drones. To do so, the drones had to travel more than 2,500 km from the Ukrainian border.
