During the night, drones attacked an oil refinery in the Russian city of Volgograd.

Russian media reported on this.

Additionally, local residents published footage of the drone attack, where a massive fire started as a result of the hit.

According to official Russian information, drones falling on the territory of the refinery caused the explosion and fire.

The consequences of the attack are not yet known, but according to some sources, the refinery’s operations were suspended for an unknown period.

Local residents report several explosions at intervals of about 10 minutes and a strange “buzzing” sound in the sky.

It should be noted that the plant is the property of LUKOIL-Volgogradnefteperabotka, which is capable of producing over 14.8 million tons of petroleum products.

The plant is located 475 km away from the state border of Ukraine.

On February 3, 2024, drones already attacked the plant, which resulted in a fire of oil products over an area of 300 square meters.

Then, the governor of the Volgograd region Andrei Bocharov wrote that on the night of February 3, air defense forces and electronic warfare systems fought off a drone attack attempt in the Volgograd region.
