Drones Attack Port in Rostov-on-Don

Ukrainian strike drones attacked port infrastructure in Rostov-on-Don.

According to the Astra news outlet, the attack took place overnight on July 26–27, 2026.

The strike hit the fourth cargo area of the Port of Rostov-on-Don, where a fire was reported.

At the time of the attack, according to the MarineTraffic monitoring service, five civilian vessels were located in the Don River near the city.

According to official information from Rostov region Governor Yuriy Slyusar, the attack caused fires to break out in several locations – at the site of a private enterprise and at warehouse facilities.

According to Astra’s OSINT analysis, the target of the strike was the Port of Rostov-on-Don – coordinates: 47.19614359890117, 39.68903937386524.

The company has four geographically separate cargo terminals, three of which are located directly within the city of Rostov-on-Don.

The facility’s capacity allows it to handle up to 16 mixed-river-sea vessels simultaneously, with a carrying capacity of up to 5,000 tonnes each.

The Port of Rostov-on-Don has around 56 berths with a combined length of more than 9 kilometres and an annual cargo handling capacity of approximately 15–18 million tonnes.

The port is currently operating at reduced capacity due to Ukraine’s MoLoChKa Operation, carried out by the Ukrainian Defence Forces against Russian shadow fleet vessels used to transport sanctioned oil to Russian ports in the Azov and Black Seas.

As part of the operation, Ukrainian forces have struck more than 126 vessels in the Sea of Azov and more than 70 vessels in the Black Sea. The targets have included not only oil tankers but also other types of vessels.

Militarnyi previously reported that oil tanker loading operations were suspended at Sheskharis, Russia’s largest oil terminal on the Black Sea, located in Novorossiysk, due to the threat of Ukrainian drone attacks.
