Strike drones of the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked a newly built workshop at the Metafrax Chemicals plant, where urea production was established.

The Astra resource reported on this.

The new workshop was built in 2023. There, the Russians set up the production of urea – a chemical component used in ammonium nitrate fuel oil (ANFO) mixtures, which can serve as explosive charges for civilian explosive devices and, theoretically, for artillery shells or mines.

Although Metafrax Chemicals does not publicly associate itself with Russia’s defense industry, its parent company, Roskhim, is one of the leading suppliers of chemical products to various military sectors of the Russian Federation.

The facility itself is located at coordinates 58.8872911, 57.5719465, approximately 1,600 km away.

In footage published by local residents, damage to the building is visible, as well as smoke rising above it.

Militarnyi previously reported that a drone strike hit the Azot chemical plant in Russia’s Tula region. The facility is involved in producing components used to manufacture explosives for artillery shells.
