Strike drones targeted two defense industry facilities in Tula, Russia, according to reports from Astra.

The facilities, which are part of the State Corporation Rostec, are involved in producing multiple launch rocket systems and the Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile and anti-aircraft artillery systems.

The first reports of explosions came from local residents who noticed smoke in the area of Shcheglovskaya Street, where JSC Instrument Design Bureau is located. The bureau specializes in the development of high-precision guided munitions.

According to Astra, the same street is also home to NPO Splav, which designs and develops multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).

Based on the analysis of photo and video materials by the Cyberboroshno community, it was determined that the attack targeted a production building of NPO Splav at coordinates 54.222495, 37.692874 — approximately 330 km from the Ukrainian border.

Photographic evidence confirms that the facility, which is currently a leading enterprise in developing and producing multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), heavy flamethrower systems, ammunition for them, as well as unguided and guided missiles, was struck.

Meanwhile, the JSC Instrument Design Bureau is one of the key weapons manufacturers in Russia’s defense industry.

The enterprise specializes in developing high-precision weapons for Russia’s Ground Forces, Navy, and Aerospace Forces, including air defense systems, automatic artillery systems, and small arms. It also produces civilian-use products.

This entity is part of the High-Precision Systems holding within the State Corporation Rostec. The company has been subject to international sanctions since 2014 (U.S. export restrictions), which were intensified in 2020. In December 2023, the European Union imposed additional restrictive measures against it for its role in supporting Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

Militarnyi previously reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ strike drones attacked the Kremniy El microelectronics factory in Bryansk.

The facility is one of the largest microelectronics manufacturers in Russia, used in missile systems such as the S-300/400, as well as in drones of various types, and has received significant investments from the Russian government.
