British company Drone Defence has developed a new counter-drone system called AeroStrike.
The company announced this in an official statement.
AeroStrike is a high-speed drone interceptor designed to physically destroy small enemy targets when electronic warfare systems are ineffective or unavailable.
According to the developers, the system’s main advantage is its top speed of up to 270 kilometers per hour. This allows the interceptor to catch and engage maneuverable targets moving at speeds of 100 to 200 kilometers per hour.
The system operates on a “human-in-the-loop” principle.
The operator retains complete control of the mission and makes the final decision to engage.
The interceptor can be controlled manually via an FPV interface or through automated guidance algorithms.
To enable early threat detection, Drone Defence engineers integrated AeroStrike into the company’s proprietary AeroTracker monitoring system.
The system aggregates data from external radars, radio-frequency scanners, and electro-optical sensors to provide accurate target designation and reduce response time to aerial threats.
The company positions the product as a mobile solution suitable for rapid deployment. The concept also allows the interceptor to be reused for subsequent flights.
Militarnyi previously reported that the British company London Defence R&D had presented prototypes of its next-generation Baby Raptor and Raptor XL interceptor drones.
The company is developing these interceptors in response to persistent aerial threats in modern warfare.
The Baby Raptor and Raptor XL operate on a specialized autonomous control system called Raptor Pilot AI Pro.
