Deviro is conducting combat testing of the Palytsya strike drone, which will complement the reconnaissance and strike capabilities of the existing Leleka and Bulava systems.

The new drone was presented at the Technological Forces of Ukraine public association’s demo day, Designed for Tomorrow: Ukrainian Defense Technology in Action.

“One ground station, one reconnaissance drone, several strike drones—and depending on the target, you now have options,” Roman, head of marketing at Deviro, noted.

Palytsya has a range of about 90 km, can remain airborne for up to 70 minutes, and can carry a payload weighing up to 3 kg.

“It has a different gimbal, a different fuselage—we don’t have an X-wing. The drone is equipped with Starlink, but we can also fly using our own mesh network. It’s a different design, with a battery that’s half the size. Thanks to these improvements, we’ve created a significantly cheaper system,” the company representative shared.

The primary targets for the Palytsya are trucks and lightly armored vehicles.

Deviro emphasizes that the lower-cost version of the drone was created so that military personnel wouldn’t have to hesitate about whether to use loitering munitions, but could instead choose which weapon is best suited for engaging a specific target.

Once combat testing is complete, the manufacturer will determine which warhead options will be required for the Palytsya and what the final configuration of the system will be, which will include Leleka, Bulava, and Palytsya.

The Technological Forces of Ukraine Demo Day, Created for the Future: Ukrainian Defense Technologies in Action, was held with the support of manufacturers Quantum Systems, General Cherry, Helsing, Airlogix, Sine Engineering, and F Drones, in partnership with Militarnyi as an information partner, technical support (communications) provided by HIMERA, and organizational support from Dronarium Academy.

Background. Technological Forces of Ukraine (TFU) is a leading Ukrainian association in the field of defense technologies, comprising approximately 90 manufacturers of defense technologies and components and accounting for about 10% of Ukraine’s defense industry. TSU members develop and manufacture a wide range of solutions: from reconnaissance and strike UAVs and ground-based robotic systems to electronic warfare (EW) and electronic countermeasures (ECM) systems, as well as critical components for these technologies. The organization works to accelerate the implementation of innovative developments, localize the production of military technologies, and integrate the Ukrainian defense market into the global economy.
