Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck the Seshcha military airfield in Russia’s Bryansk Region.
The General Staff reported this.
According to the NASA FIRMS fire monitoring system, a fire was recorded in the airfield’s aircraft parking area after the strike.
The Seshcha airfield is a Russian Aerospace Forces military transport aviation facility. The 566th Solnechnogorsk Military Transport Aviation Regiment of the 12th Military Transport Aviation Division is based there.
It is located near the settlement of the same name in the Dubrovsky District of the Bryansk Region, approximately 150 kilometers from the state border with Ukraine.
The airfield normally hosts heavy An-124-100 Ruslan and Il-76 transport aircraft. Russian forces actively use these aircraft for logistics and the transport of troops and weapons.
Russian forces have also used the airfield as a launch site for Geran-type strike drones targeting Ukraine, as well as a base for Su-34 bombers and Mi-28, Mi-8 and Ka-52 helicopters.
In 2022, following Russia’s defeat near Kyiv, part of its aviation relocated from Belarus to this facility.
In addition to the airfield, an electronic warfare station was hit near Hryniove in the Bryansk Region, while a radar station was hit near Yelionka in the same region.
The Defense Forces also struck enemy UAV facilities: a storage, preparation, and launch site for strike drones was destroyed in Donetsk, while UAV command posts were hit in the areas of Bilotserkivka and Kamianka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces hit the invaders’ command and observation posts near Hirnyk, Ukrainsk, and Kurakhove in the Donetsk region.
In the occupied part of the Luhansk region, Ukrainian forces hit a logistics depot near Krynychne and a fuel and lubricants depot near Kondriuche.
