Russia is engaged in negotiations with a Chinese drone manufacturer on kamikaze drones supply.
The German Der Spiegel reported about this with reference to anonymous sources.
According to the publication, it regards the purchase of 100 drones.
It should be noted that in recent days, the United States and other Western countries have warned China not to sell weapons to Russia for the war against Ukraine.
According to Der Spiegel, the Russians are currently engaged in negotiations with Chinese drone manufacturer Xi’an Bingo Intelligent Aviation Technology which has reportedly agreed to manufacture 100 ZT-180 prototype drones for Russia.
They may be delivered as early as April this year.
The publication states that the design of the Chinese ZT-180 kamikaze drone could be similar to that of Iran’s Shahed-136 kamikaze drone and is capable of carrying a warhead weighing 35 to 50 kilogram.
In addition, Der Spiegel writes that Xi’an Bingo reportedly plans to deliver components and know-how to Russia so that the country can produce drones on its own.
According to the publication, it will be possible to produce around 100 drones a month.
It should be noted that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, stated that Ukraine does not yet have the facts of the provision of lethal weapons to Russia by China, Ukrinform reports.
“We do not have such facts. As soon as we receive them, we will carefully study them. But I think that it would be a huge mistake for any country to provide Russia with weapons, because it would mean promoting aggression and a gross violation of the UN Charter,” Kuleba said, answering journalists’ questions.
