Chernihiv border guards receive Senator APC armored vehicles

Chernihiv border guards have received Canadian Senator APC armored combat vehicles.

Such vehicles are supplied to Ukraine as assistance from international partners.

Senator APC will be used by border guards units to safeguard the borders.

As of early December, the defense forces of Ukraine have already transferred a hundred such vehicles.

These machines are produced by the Canadian Roshel Defence Solutions company.

The vehicle has a steel body and glass that can withstand shots from .50 cal weapons. The Senator APC also has an explosion-proof hull, so it can withstand detonation of grenades or mines.

The company does not disclose on which platform the vehicle is built, noting only that it is from a heavy commercial truck.

“Quite a good vehicle, maneuverable. Even if you compare with Kozak APC, even a little better,” the border guards say.

This vehicle accommodates eight seats. The armored vehicle is powered by a 6.7-liter turbocharged diesel engine with a capacity of 330 hp and 750 Nm of torque.

According to the border guards, the cabin is quite spacious: even a soldier in a full combat set will have enough space. It is also possible to leave the vehicle quickly if necessary.

“We will install a “cradle” and a machine gun. Now the drivers have already received them and will be moved to the points of deployment, where they will be used for their intended purpose,” the border guards say.

The first Senator APC armored vehicles were received by the Defense Forces of Ukraine in May this year.
