On the morning of June 9, a car exploded in the Aviatorov neighborhood of Balashikha, Moscow region. The powerful blast occurred just as the driver was getting into a BMW X3 and starting to leave the parking lot.
Local Telegram channels “Balashikha Rules,” SHOT, and The Moscow Times reported the details of the incident.
It is currently unknown who was driving the vehicle.
Russia’s Investigative Committee has confirmed the car explosion in Balashikha. The driver was pulled alive from the burning vehicle, but despite rescue efforts, he did not survive.

The car exploded on Koldunova Street, near building No. 10, and the explosive device had a power equivalent to 300–400 grams of TNT.
The Aviatorov neighborhood in Balashikha, also known as The Thirtieth (Tridtsatyy), consists of 24 apartment blocks that were built primarily to house servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces and their families.
The explosion occurred near a building from the first phase of this residential complex. At that time, apartments in these high-rises were assigned exclusively through the Russian Ministry of Defense.
