Bulava Drone Receives New Camera with Thermal Imaging Channel

The Ukrainian Bulava loitering munition has received a new electro-optical system.

A representative of the developer, DeViRo, shared this with Militarnyi at the MSPO international defense exhibition in Poland.

The upgraded drone is equipped with a multispectral electro-optical system that enables round-the-clock operations.

The new system combines daylight and thermal imaging channels in a single housing, eliminating the need for separate optical module variants for different times of day.

Operators can switch between day and night modes in the control station software during the mission.

All subsequent production batches of Bulava strike drones will include the new optical system.

In addition to integrating the new optical system, the developers have significantly improved the strike system’s flight performance.

The Bulava’s flight endurance has increased to 110 minutes.

The drone’s guaranteed operational range is 120 to 130 kilometers, with the potential for further extension depending on conditions and crew training.

“There was a summer logistics campaign, and we took a very active part in it […] We were taking out enemy radars and air defenses so that deep-strikes could get as far in as possible,” the company representative added.

In March, DeViRo presented its new SOKYRA interceptor drone designed to shoot down Russian attack drones.

The interceptor can reach a speed of 240 km/h, has an operational range of 45 kilometers, and can remain airborne for 30 minutes. The drone’s warhead weighs 750 grams.
