British Soldiers Steal Bulldog APC After Drinking, Hit Comrades’ Cars

Two British servicemen stole a tracked Bulldog armored personnel carrier after drinking alcohol and rammed parked vehicles belonging to other soldiers at a garrison.

The Sun reported the incident, citing its own sources and a statement from a British Army representative.

The incident occurred on July 24 at around 3 a.m. Kyiv time at Swinton Barracks in Perham Down, with the damage estimated at £100,000.

The soldiers from the 26th Engineer Regiment returned from a period off base and took the armored vehicle. While driving along a narrow street, the driver lost control of the APC at a speed of up to 51 km/h and hit private vehicles belonging to other servicemen.

The collision destroyed a Vauxhall car and an MG ZS electric crossover worth about £30,000. The armored personnel carrier itself was not damaged, and no one was injured in the incident.

After the drive, the soldier parked the Bulldog in a parking area and returned to the barracks. Later that morning, the Royal Military Police detained the two soldiers in their room.

An Army spokesperson confirmed the detention of the two soldiers after the July 24 incident and said an investigation had been launched.
