Russia is deploying new BM-35 kamikaze drones in its war against Ukraine.
This information was shared on social media by radio technology expert Serhiy Flesh.
The drone features an aerodynamic design with a delta-shaped wing and an undisclosed number of warhead components.
BM-35 is equipped with a two-stroke gasoline engine, the DLE, with a pusher propeller located at the front of the fuselage.
The drone also features an analog video transmission system operating in the 3.3 GHz frequency range, as well as a forward-facing camera.
This drone has repeatedly attacked frontline settlements, causing damage to civilian infrastructure and the psychological well-being of local residents.
Initially, Ukrainian specialists believed that the BM-35 belonged to the ZALA drone family, under the name ‘Italmaz,’ but the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine did not identify the type of the UAV.
The drone’s design contains at least 41 foreign components, including those from Switzerland, the USA, and Taiwan, with the majority of the parts coming from China.
Recently, Russia deployed a new Shahed series ‘Ъ’ kamikaze drone, equipped with a camera.
According to available information, the camera in this model is not integrated into the nosecone, as in other series, but is mounted underneath the front part of the fuselage on a gyrostabilized suspension.
This technical solution allows for real-time video streaming and provides remote control of the drone via a radio link.
Meanwhile, the video signal may experience noticeable delays and can only be transmitted within the range of Russian network infrastructure.
