Ukrainian company BlueBird Tech has released an updated version of its Chuyka 4.5.0 drone detector, with an expanded frequency range and updated functionality.

The manufacturer’s press service announced this.

The device takes its name from the military code ‘4.5.0,’ which, in military slang, means the situation is calm and there are no threats.

The main technical improvement in the updated Chuyka is expanded operating frequencies across four main bands: 1,080–2,200 MHz, 2,870–4,500 MHz, 4,890–6,040 MHz, and 6,050–8,800 MHz. Adding the 6.05–8.8 GHz spectrum enables the detector to effectively identify the latest FPV drones and fixed-wing UAVs, including Molniyas.

The device scans all four frequency bands simultaneously, taking 4 to 8 seconds. When it detects a signal, the device provides visual and audible alerts and displays the intercepted video on its built-in screen.

A key new feature is the ability to output analog video signals from enemy FPV drones to external monitors or TVs. This allows personnel to quickly analyze the footage at unit command posts and headquarters.

The detector can identify enemy UAVs up to 4 km away, depending on terrain and the UAV’s transmitter power.

The detector is housed in a durable PETG plastic casing measuring 104 × 158 × 67 mm and weighing 940 grams. It is rated IP54 for dust and splash protection, features active cooling, and includes MOLLE-compatible attachments for mounting on equipment.

The device is powered by a built-in 5,000 mAh 4-cell battery, providing up to 4.5 hours of operation. It uses USB-C and XT60 connectors.

If needed, the Chuyka 4.5.0 detector can connect to external power sources with voltages ranging from 12 to 28 V.

BlueBird Tech has previously received codification from Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense for its Bebradrone UAV.

Codification allows the UAV to be officially procured with state budget funds for the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
