The soldiers of the 82nd Bukovyna Air Assault Brigade have been equipped with American M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles.
The brigade shared the news on its official Facebook page.
According to the paratroopers, the Bradley is their “armored argument” – a vehicle that helps them “go through hell, strike hard, and bring their brothers home.”
“The Bradley’s hull withstands artillery fire, FPV drone strikes, mines, and even anti-tank missiles. Where other vehicles are reduced to wreckage, the American IFV pulls out the living – destroying enemy armor before it even has time to turn its gun,” the 82nd Air Assault Brigade reported.
They noted that the Bradley is a formidable weapon in the hands of the paratroopers and a reliable machine that saves the lives of Ukrainian soldiers in battles against the invaders.
The M2 Bradley IFV is a versatile “soldier” on the battlefield. Its 25mm M242 Bushmaster cannon can penetrate most Russian armored vehicles, firing both single shots and devastating bursts at a rate of up to 500 rounds per minute.
Ukraine has received these combat vehicles as part of U.S. military aid. In addition, in July of this year, the U.S. Department of State approved a potential sale of Bradley IFVs to Ukraine, along with their maintenance, estimated at around $150 million.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces have also already mastered the maintenance of American IFVs. This specifically includes the repair of engines, components and assemblies, specialized electrical equipment, and weapon systems.
