An explosion was heard in the Russian city of Sarapul, Udmurtia, after a drone attack.

The attack was confirmed by the head of Udmurtia, Alexander Brechalov. According to him, the region was attacked by at least two drones. He added that the relevant services are working at the scene.

The city is home to the Sarapul Electric Generator Plant, an important enterprise that manufactures electric generators for the oil and gas industry and mechanical engineering. This facility could have been one of the targets of the attack.

Local residents reported that the plant’s employees were evacuated after the explosion. Increased security measures were noticed at the plant.

According to eyewitnesses, mobile phone service was cut off in the city for some time.

This may indicate the use of electronic warfare to counter drones.
