Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated Yampil village in Donetsk region

Defense forces of Ukraine liberated the village of Yampil in Donetsk region.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced this in his evening public address on September 30.

“I especially want to commend the soldiers of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade and the 54th Mechanized Brigade for their constant bravery and heroism in the Siversk and Bakhmut directions. As well as servicemen of 214 Separate Rifle Battalion of the SOF and 103rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade for the liberation of Yampil. I am also thankful to our intelligence units – Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, as well as the Security Service of Ukraine,” Zelensky said.

He also noted that Ukrainian forces are making progress in the Lyman direction.

“We have substantial results in the east of our country. There is already enough public information about this. Everyone has heard what is happening in Lyman, Donetsk region. These are steps that mean a lot to us. And I am thankful to all our fighters for implementing this element of our defense plan,” Zelenskyi said.

As previously reported, the General Staff reported that an operation to encircle the Russian group is underway in the Lyman direction.

It was noted that the results of the operation in the Lyman area will be announced after stabilization measures.

Radio Svoboda journalists released a video featuring the captured equipment of the invaders and their abandoned positions in the Lyman area.

The video shows Russian soldiers which are called to surrender through a loudspeaker, with explanations how it can be done. The enemy is advised to lay down their weapons, go to the nearest road and wait for the appearance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As previously reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk have signed an application for accelerated accession of Ukraine to NATO.
