Armed Forces of Ukraine captured Russian latest counter-battery radar as a trophy in Kharkiv Region

The Armed Forces of Ukraine captured the counter-battery radar station Zoopark-1М (1L260) as a trophy.

Photos of the captured radar were published and identified by the OSINT project Ukraine Weapons Tracker.

The special system looks generally intact both outside and inside.

In August, a similar system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was destroyed in the Zaporizhzhia Region by an artillery strike.

The main purpose of the Zoopark-1М system is reconnaissance of the enemy’s fire position and adjustment of fire. Ammunition in the air is detected using a radar and its trajectory is calculated. That allows to determine both the launch position and the area of strike. At the same time, this enables modifying the operation of their own artillery units in addition to detecting the enemy’s firing positions.

According to the manufacturer, the performance of the radar and computer systems allows to determine the coordinates of all enemy artillery equipment even with massive artillery bombardment, give distributed target instructions, and destroy these tools before they leave the firing position.
