Air Assault Forces in the Huliaipole Sector Intercept Russian Grads

Drones operated by Ukrainian airborne troops intercepted Russian BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launchers on the Huliaipole–Pology highway.

The 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces reported that the enemy is attempting to use this highway, located approximately 15 km from the front line, as a logistical artery.

To destroy Russian equipment, the 237th Unmanned Systems Battalion deployed strike drones there.

The first Grad was detected on the outskirts of Huliaipole, where it had already taken up a combat position for shelling. The second MLRS was intercepted on the highway while moving toward Huliaipole.

According to the analytical resource Oryx, which tracks confirmed cases of Russian equipment destruction, the invaders have already lost at least 371 Grad launchers.

Currently, the number of Russian assaults in the Huliaipole sector has decreased from 20–30 per day in May–July to about 10 per day.

The enemy has abandoned broad-front offensive operations and is now using small assault groups, Anastasiia Shevchenko, spokesperson for the Army Group South, shared with Ukrinform.

“The enemy has stopped using heavy equipment because our Unmanned Systems Forces are monitoring its logistics, detecting personnel and equipment in a timely manner, and striking them—for the most part—while they are still on the move,” the spokesperson explained.

At the same time, she noted that in the Huliaipole sector, Russian troops continue to periodically carry out assault operations in small groups supported by armored vehicles, but without success. Overall, the operational situation in the Joint Forces Operation Zone South remains largely unchanged, and combat intensity remains low.

“Over the past 24 hours, 13 combat clashes were recorded. The Huliaipole sector remains the most active, where Russian troops made ten attempts to advance in the area of Hirkove and toward Kosivtsove, Rizdvyanka, and Charivne,” Shevchenko reported.

The spokesperson noted that there is no reason to expect a change in the nature of hostilities in the southern sectors in the near future.

In September, the 225th Assault Regiment was transferred to the operational control of the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Airborne Assault Forces.
