The 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been equipped with American M142 HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems.

This was reported on the unit’s social media page.

The replenishment of the paratroopers’ artillery arsenal was carried out to strengthen the unit’s combat capability as part of the ongoing corps reform.

The received launchers were transferred to the 147th Artillery Brigade.

The rocket system crew has already successfully completed its first combat missions on the front line.

In particular, with the help of HIMARS, Ukrainian artillerymen managed to destroy several enemy guns during counter-battery fire. The 147th Artillery Brigade, part of the 7th Corps, was formed last summer.

It was equipped, in particular, with French CAESAR self-propelled artillery systems.

It later became known that the brigade is also armed with Ukrainian-made Bohdana-BG towed howitzers.

We also recall that the 7th Air Assault Forces Corps launched its own Center for Innovation and Technology.

Denis Polyachenko, head of the Corps’ unmanned systems department, explained that the Center will enable the implementation of initiatives that respond to rapid changes in military realities.

Currently, the brigades already have a robust infrastructure, including workshops and laboratories, as well as well-established cooperation with manufacturers.
