More than 68,000 Ukrainian troops have completed military training in the United Kingdom under British-led training programs.
The figure was disclosed by UK Defence Journal, citing a written response from UK Minister for Defence Procurement and Industry Maria Eagle.
Most of the Ukrainian personnel were trained under Operation Interflex, a program launched in the summer of 2022 to provide basic military training for new recruits.
The course covers basic weapons handling, combat first aid, as well as urban warfare and trench warfare tactics.
The training, conducted at military facilities across the United Kingdom, is delivered by instructors from several partner nations, including Canada, Australia, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and other allied countries.
The program is continuously updated to reflect the evolving needs of the battlefield, with a particular focus on counter-drone tactics, operating in electronic warfare (EW) environments, and responding to artillery fire.
In addition to the basic infantry course, the United Kingdom also provides training for combat medics, junior commanders, marines, and delivers initial flight training for Ukrainian pilots.
