By APC, Boat, and On Foot: 63rd Mechanized Brigade Evacuated Ten Civilians from Lyman

Soldiers of the 63rd Mechanized Brigade carried out an emergency evacuation of civilians from the frontline area of the Lyman region.

The operation took place in the area of responsibility of the Third Army Corps, which reported its successful completion.

Ten local residents were evacuated from the danger zone; they had remained near the combat zone under constant threat of shelling and drone attacks.

Among those evacuated were five children, a pregnant woman, and a man with an amputated limb who could not move on his own.

The soldiers carried the wounded and mobility-impaired man on a stretcher. They carried the small children in their arms.

Units from the brigade’s motorized infantry and reconnaissance battalions were deployed for the operation.

Civilians covered part of the route in a BTR-4 “Bucephalus” armored personnel carrier, which was used to exit the most dangerous section.

The group then crossed the Siverskyi Donets River and continued on foot.

According to residents, it had become impossible to remain in the settlement due to the constant use of Russian drones against civilians.

The released footage shows the military’s coordinated actions, the escort of children, and the evacuation of people under difficult field conditions.

The Lyman direction remains one of the areas of active combat operations, where Russian troops continue to put pressure on Ukrainian positions and frontline communities.

“The evacuation of civilians from dangerous areas remains one of the key tasks of the Ukrainian military and local authorities,” the 3rd Army Corps emphasizes.

As a reminder, a mandatory evacuation from 44 settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions was previously announced.
