Units of the 33rd Assault Regiment successfully stormed Russian positions using the Droid TW 12.7 ground-based robotic system.
This was reported by the regiment’s press service.
The use of the robotic system made it possible to suppress the enemy at their positions, paving the way for their subsequent elimination using strike drones.
The regiment emphasized that the use of such systems prevents personnel from being exposed to direct danger.
Thanks to this approach, the regiment’s units destroyed the enemy position and eliminated the invasion forces’ personnel.
The use of ground-based robotic systems within the Ukrainian Armed Forces has become quite widespread today.
Their deployment enables reconnaissance, the engagement of enemy infantry, and the conduct of assault operations.
In addition, advancements in this field have made it possible to carry out quite unique operations, one of which was the deployment of a ground-based robotic system to the coast of the occupied Kinburn Spit in the Mykolaiv region.
The operation, conducted by the 123rd Territorial Defense Brigade, enabled the vehicle to be transported via an unmanned surface vehicle to carry out its combat mission.
UGVs are also being developed as platforms for other drones. The Ukrainian company Temerland has unveiled the Gnom-ND unmanned ground vehicle, capable of launching FPV drones.
The operator launches and controls the drones directly from the FPV drone’s remote control.
According to the developers, this allows strike drones to be delivered deeper into Russian positions, increasing the effectiveness of operations.
