Three Bundeswehr trucks burned down at the MAN facility near Magdeburg, Germany.

This was reported by MDR Sachsen-Anhalt.

The fire broke out on the morning of September 24 in the town of Barleben. The three trucks were on the grounds of the MAN facility in the Lehmkuhlenbreite industrial zone.

According to the local fire department, the call came in around 2:50 a.m. By the time emergency responders arrived, two military trucks were fully engulfed in flames, while the fire on the third was just beginning. Firefighters managed to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to other vehicles.

Police confirmed to MDR that the damaged vehicles belonged to the Bundeswehr.

No one was injured in the fire, but due to heavy smoke, local residents were warned of the danger via special apps.

The exact circumstances of the fire are still being determined. The Bundeswehr military police have been brought in to assist with the investigation.

A spokeswoman for the Börde district police told Berliner Zeitung that investigators are looking into the possibility of arson.

At the same time, as of September 25, the state criminal investigation office stated that no evidence of a politically motivated crime had yet been found.

The incident occurred amid a series of incidents involving damage to military equipment and facilities in Germany.

In June 2025, Militarnyi reported that at least six Rheinmetall MAN trucks belonging to the Bundeswehr had been set on fire in Erfurt. Video footage of that act of sabotage was circulated by Russian media outlets, which claimed their people were involved.

Also, in 2026, other incidents related to military logistics were recorded in Germany. Specifically, in January, unknown individuals damaged a railroad track that a U.S. Army train was supposed to travel on, and in August, German authorities investigated an attack by an FPV drone carrying explosives on a Ukrainian An-124 at Leipzig-Halle Airport.
