Soldiers of the unmanned systems battalion of the 100th Mechanized Brigade destroyed two 2S7 Pion 203mm self-propelled guns.

The brigade’s press service reported about this on its Facebook page.

It is reported that the enemy’s self-propelled guns were destroyed on the march near temporarily occupied Horlivka, 25 km from the front line.

The 2S7 Pion is a Soviet-era 203mm self-propelled gun designed to destroy especially important objects and enemy fortifications. Depending on the ammunition, the range of fire is between 13 and 47 kilometers.

It can use high-explosive, active-reactive, cluster, and concrete-piercing shells. 203 mm high-explosive fragmentation shells weigh 110 kg and are equipped with about 18 kg of explosives.

In mid-October 2024, Ukrainian marines destroyed a Russian 2S7 Pion 203mm self-propelled artillery system in the Kherson region.

The enemy artillery system was destroyed at a combat position from which it was firing at Ukrainian defenders.

Soldiers of the 140th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion detected the Russian artillery, identified it, and transmitted the coordinates for its destruction.

At the beginning of October 2024, Militarnyi reported that the artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a Russian 2S7 Pion 203mm self-propelled gun, its crew, and ammunition using cluster munitions.

Soldiers of the Attack UAV Company “Divine Punishment” (Nebesna Kara) of the 54th Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa guided the artillery at the target.
