€1,000 Shot: Estonia Develops Tempterno CP260 Multi-Target Mini-Rocket

Estonian company Tempterno Defence has developed the Tempterno CP260 multi-mission, multi-target unguided mini-rocket designed to destroy aerial and ground targets.

The new development was unveiled at the MSPO international defense exhibition in Poland, Militarnyi reports.

The about 1-kg munition has a maximum range of up to 2.5 km and an effective range of 200 to 500 meters. The developers cite its low cost per shot, at around €1,000, as one of its main advantages.

The rocket can be launched from multicopters, fixed-wing UAVs, ground launchers, or manually from the shoulder. The launcher for the missile is being developed by another Estonian company.

In its air defense configuration, the rocket uses a proximity fuze that detonates at a distance from the target, creating a cloud of tungsten pellets.

For engaging ground targets, including personnel and vehicles, high-explosive, inflaming, and anti-armor warheads are being developed.

“Instead of simply using a kamikaze drone to destroy a single target, you can arm a UAV with rockets and destroy several targets in a single flight,” a Tempterno Defence representative said.

The missile is currently guided manually using a camera mounted on the launcher, but the developers are working to automate target detection and acquisition with artificial intelligence.

The company is already in contact with Ukrainian enterprises regarding cooperation on integrating warheads and software for automated target acquisition.

The rocket itself is already ready and undergoing test flights, while development and testing of the warhead lineup are expected to be completed by the end of this year or early next year.

As Militarnyi previously reported, the Estonian-Ukrainian company DoD Solution and Estonian company Defsecintel will develop joint systems for detecting and intercepting drones.

Also in December 2025, Latvia successfully tested a similar Estonian Mark 1 micro-missile designed to counter drones.
