FPV drone pilots of the Trophy Hunters team of the 148th Artillery Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces destroyed a Russian ground-based unmanned mining system.

The brigade’s press service released the video.

The footage shows a wheeled unmanned mining system carrying four TM-62 anti-tank mines. An accurate hit destroyed the system.

“What is more surprising is not that drones are fighting against drones, but that the enemy used technology rather than sending another soldier Ivan to do the mining,” the brigade shared.

Russians are actively using wheeled and tracked drones to remotely mine positions, fields, and roads.

As previously reported, the Ukrainian troops hit a tracked unmanned mining system.

In addition to specialized platforms, Russians also use combined ones.

For example, at the end of March, it was reported that FPV drone pilots of the 47th Mechanized Brigade destroyed two Russian unmanned combat ground vehicles that carried eight anti-tank mines in addition to AGS-17 grenade launchers.

Unmanned mining systems in the Ukrainian Defense Forces

Unmanned mining systems are actively used by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

On April 3, Militarnyi reported that soldiers of the 63rd Mechanized Brigade demonstrated the combat use of unmanned mining systems.

The video shows a wheeled drone approaching Russian positions, unloading two anti-tank mines, and returning unnoticed, after which the mines are detonated.

It was also reported that a Ukrainian Ratel S kamikaze ground drone blew up a bridge in the village of Ivanivske in the Donetsk region.

The video shows the explosives-laden remote-controlled platform reaching the target and exploding, striking the bridge’s structures.
