The Ukrainian military destroyed the TOS-1А ‘Solntsepyok’ heavy flamethrower system in the Donetsk region.

The video of drone destruction was published by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on its social media.

The enemy vehicle was destroyed by soldiers of the 46th Airmobile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the footage, the TOS-1А ‘Solntsepyok’ was destroyed by an FPV kamikaze drone that hit the system’s ammunition.

According to preliminary assessments, it occurred near the Russian-held Mariinka in the Donetsk region, which continues to be one of the most active areas along the Russian-Ukrainian front.

The Russian invaders continue to assault Ukrainian positions in the area almost daily. Russians often use TOS-1А heavy flamethrower systems to support armored vehicles and infantry.

The footage shows that the Russian TOS-1А ‘Solntsepyok’ was moving along the road, most likely toward Ukrainian positions.

The powerful explosion that completely destroyed the launcher after it was hit by a Ukrainian FPV drone indicates that it was carrying a munition that the invaders intended to use to fire at Ukrainian defenders.

However, according to the video, they failed, and the TOS-1A ‘Solntsepyok’ was completely destroyed, probably along with the crew inside.

The Ukrainian military has repeatedly destroyed and captured these flamethrower systems and their transport and loading vehicles, particularly in the east, where the enemy is actively using them.

Previously, soldiers of the 47th Mechanized Brigade of the Strike Drones Company destroyed the TOS-1А heavy flamethrower system in the Avdiyivka sector.

The Russians used the system to destroy light-armored vehicles, manpower, and fortifications. However, this system had to get very close to the front line because its maximum range is only 6 kilometers. As a result, it was hit by various weapons, which repeatedly led to its destruction.
