The aggressor troops are offering Ukrainian men to join the Russian army in the Russian-occupied city of Melitopol (Zaporizhzhia region).
Militarnyi informs about it.
During the joint stream of the Ukrainian TV channels, Ivan Fedorov, Mayor of Melitopol, informed the Ukrainian citizens about these proposals circulating in the city, Ukrainska Pravda reports.
In some houses, Russian soldiers are collecting lists from the building managers who agreed to cooperate with the aggressor forces – lists about what apartments are empty, who lives there, etc. From those lists, they make note of the men that are living there.
It has been reported that since yesterday, at checkpoints on the outskirts of Melitopol, Russians have been offering Ukrainian men to join the Russian army.
“If they refuse, they let them go. But we understand that while today they may be offering, tomorrow they may force them to take a machine gun and go to the trenches,” said the Mayor of Melitopol.
Ivan Fedorov also said that 8 evacuation buses have been confiscated in Melitopol. As of 8 am on April 9, the buses have still not reappeared, and people are waiting to be evacuated.
According to the Mayor, the occupying troops are creating a “vacuum” in the occupied cities. Russian troops are no longer bringing in their own humanitarian aid, but rather confiscating the aid sent from Ukraine or from the West and distributing it among the local residents to create a positive outlook for themselves.
