Ukraine is ready to sink Russian ships off the coast of Greenland after joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

“If Russian ships freely sail around Greenland, they can be sunk near Greenland just as they are sunk near Crimea. We would solve this problem if we were in NATO,” the president said.

The statement came amid reports by Donald Trump that Chinese and Russian ships are freely sailing near Greenland, so the US should annex the island to ensure its security.

Previously, the Prime Minister of Greenland called for preparations for a possible US invasion.

To this end, the government will form a special task force with the participation of local authorities to help the nation prepare for possible disruptions in daily life.

In addition, the government is working on disseminating new recommendations to citizens, in particular advising them to keep at least a five-day supply of food at home.
