Around ten countries, following U.S. support, are ready to deploy troops to Ukraine in the event of a peace agreement.
Bloomberg reported on this.
The deployment of troops would likely take place as part of a broader package of security guarantees for Ukraine, which is expected to be finalized this week.
This development has been made possible due to a firmer U.S. stance on supporting Ukraine and clearer American commitments to providing security guarantees.
According to the publication, a meeting of European state representatives took place on Tuesday, where they discussed plans to deploy British and French troops to Ukraine as part of a peace agreement.
Meanwhile, around ten other countries are also ready to take part in deploying their own forces as part of the security guarantees package.
It should be noted, however, that the U.S. President Donald Trump has not supported the idea of deploying American peacekeepers to Ukraine. In his view, this responsibility should fall to European countries.
The potential deployment of peacekeepers in Ukraine would take place under the framework of the Coalition of the Willing. At present, the countries in this coalition planning to send a peacekeeping contingent to Ukraine have agreed to establish coalition command centers.
After the command center is established in Paris, a coordination hub is planned to be set up in Kyiv – but this will only happen once the Coalition’s command structure has been fully formed.
As part of its support for Ukraine, the Coalition of the Willing plans to deploy experts in logistics, armaments, and training to assist in the restoration and reform of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.
In addition, coalition air forces, together with the Ukrainian Air Force, will work to secure the country’s airspace.
The patrolling of Ukrainian skies by coalition aircraft is expected to enhance the safety of the civilian population and create conditions for the restoration of regular international air traffic.
Plans are also in place to strengthen the Black Sea Naval Force, which includes Turkey, Romania, and Bulgaria.
The group will be reinforced with specialized personnel, enabling faster demining of the Black Sea waters and ensuring safe and uninterrupted maritime access to and from Ukrainian ports.
