During a refueling operation in the Caribbean near the coast of South America, US Navy ships collided.

According to USNI News, the destroyer USS Truxtun and the USNS Supply collided.

Two crew members were injured during refueling maneuvers at sea.

After the incident, the USS Truxtun and USNS Supply continued on their way, moving away from the collision site.

The US Southern Command has not yet disclosed the causes of the accident. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation.

The USNS Supply is on a mission in the Caribbean, which is part of the US Southern Command’s area of responsibility. It is also responsible for part of the South Atlantic and the southern Pacific Ocean.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump ordered a military presence in the Caribbean as part of the administration’s campaign to combat drug trafficking.
