Ukrainian UASAT-NANO Satellites to Be Manufactured in Denmark With Future Localization in Ukraine

Communication satellites for Ukraine under the UASAT LEO program will be manufactured by the experienced Danish company GomSpace.

Dmytro Stetsenko, CEO of Stetman stated this in an interview with Militarnyi. The partners are currently establishing a joint venture that will operate in Ukraine.

“Satellite production does not require large facilities. In practical terms, it would require about 1,200–1,300 square meters of space,” Stetsenko said.

At the initial stage, the plan is to purchase ready-made satellites manufactured in Denmark. After being produced using foreign technologies, the spacecraft will be sent to launch sites.

Later, when the security situation allows, ‘screwdriver assembly’ will begin in Ukraine. There are also plans to fully localize production, with the exception of chip manufacturing.

The Ukrainian UASAT-NANO communications satellite constellation will consist of 300 satellites.

The first satellite is scheduled to be launched in October this year using a launch vehicle from SpaceX. By 2027, 120 satellites are expected to be placed into orbit, with another 100–105 satellites planned for launch each subsequent year.
