Ukrainian troops defeat Russian convoy in Kursk oblast

The Ukrainian military destroyed a convoy of armored vehicles that was developing a breakthrough in the Ukrainian-controlled part of the Kursk oblast.

A convoy of the Russian vehicles advancing on the left flank of the Ukrainian group of troops was ambushed and stopped by tank fire.

As a result of the successful attack, a VPK-Ural armored vehicle, a BTR-80 armored personnel carrier, a UAZ-452 vehicle, and a tank with a mine trawl were destroyed.

The location of the ambush was geolocated (here) on the Rylsk-Korenevo-Sudzha road, 5 kilometers south of Olgovka.

The equipment moved towards the settlements of Zelyonyi Shlyakh and Novoivanovka, developing its breakthrough in the defense of the Ukrainian troops.

The Ukrainian analytical project DeepState reported that the Russian troops had advanced in the direction of the mentioned settlements.

“It was an extremely terrible day in the area of Novoivanivka: artillery and drones had to engage in combat. The enemy has recently pulled together a lot of equipment and manpower. Although the first attempts achieved tactical success near Snagost, they were eventually completely stopped. Until now,” the project analysts noted.

The reasons for the invaders’ successful offensive are the enemy’s formation of a powerful group of troops in the area, as well as the extremely low level of interaction between the Ukrainian troops.

The latter, in particular, is explained by the involvement in the Kursk operation of a large number of the company-battalion level units from different brigades, which negatively affects the level of defense organization.

Militarnyi previously reported that the 104th and 103rd Territorial Defense Brigades had taken part in the battles for the village of Obukhovka in the Kursk oblast.

In a close combat, the soldiers repelled a mechanized attack by the Russian paratroopers who were trying to seize the positions in a building.
