The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) officers received B&T APC9 PRO-G submachine guns.
The SBI showed its officers armed with these weapons in the Rivne region.
The Swiss firm Brügger & Thomet, which specializes in the production of weapons for law enforcement and the military, developed this weapon. B&T USA, based in Tampa, Florida, USA, manufactured and supplied these firearms, according to the company.
The B&T APC9 is available in 9mm and .45 ACP variants.
The upper part of the receiver is made of 7075 T6 aluminum alloy, and the lower part is made of polymer material.
The total length is only 385 mm, the barrel length is 175 mm, and the weight is 2.7 kg.
The B&T APC also has a folding butt and an adapter for installing a silencer.
The set includes one magazine for 15 rounds and two for 30.
The G-version of the APC9 PRO uses 9mm Glock twin-row magazines.
These weapons are popular in the United States. In 2019, the U.S. Army adopted the APC9 submachine gun.
The contract provides for the production of 350 submachine guns, with an option for an additional 1,000 units.
Recall that in 2022, a Rapid Operational Response Unit operator was awarded the TS.M.308 sniper rifle, a licensed copy of the Brügger & Thomet APR sniper rifle.
