The Swiss firm Brügger & Thomet, which specializes in the production of weapons for law enforcement and the military, developed this weapon. B&T USA, based in Tampa, Florida, USA, manufactured and supplied these firearms, according to the company.

The B&T APC9 is available in 9mm and .45 ACP variants.

The upper part of the receiver is made ​​of 7075 T6 aluminum alloy, and the lower part is made of polymer material.
