The ‘Khyzhak’ Special Police Forces Brigade eliminated North Korean soldiers in the Kursk oblast.

A video of the operation was shared on the unit’s Telegram page.

The group of soldiers detected by the Khyzhak unit was attacked using FPV drones and drones equipped with munitions.

As a result of the swift actions of the brigade, two North Korean soldiers were killed, and seven others sustained injuries of varying severity.

Currently, the involvement of North Korean units in the Kursk oblast has increased significantly, and, according to the Ukrainian military, their actions and behavior on the battlefield differ significantly from those of Russian forces.

The strange behavior of North Korean soldiers was also noticed by the Khorne Group of the 116th Separate Mechanized Brigade.

“Weakness and bravery are their tactics, their trump card is good physical fitness. They do not count on the actions of drones. They wear very strange, funny hats. They hold their weapons as if they were Mosin-Nagant rifles. It looks like they are using the same tactics as 70 years ago,” the Khorne Group’s press service said.

Previously, Militarnyi reported that on December 14, 2024, the first involvement of North Korean soldiers in assault operations in the Kursk oblast was recorded.

At the time, the military noted that it was the first time they had seen the enemy launch an assault without armored vehicles, and that their actions on the battlefield were significantly different from those they were used to seeing from the Russians. According to one of the soldiers, the Koreans were attacking in infantry platoons of 20–30 people, which were being targeted by the artillery of the Defense Forces.

The soldiers ignored their wounded comrades and continued to attack in columns.

In addition, soldiers of the 8th Regiment of the Special Operations Forces and the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade used drones to destroy North Korean infantry in the Kursk region of Russia.

According to the press service of the 8th Regiment of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, operators killed 50 enemy soldiers and wounded 47 more during the fighting in Kursk oblast.
