Ukrainian forces carried out a series of strikes on Russian air defense assets in Russia’s Belgorod region, Ukraine’s General Staff said on Saturday.
The attacks, conducted on July 20, reportedly destroyed an S-300P surface-to-air missile system and hit a Nebo-M radar station, degrading the operational capacity of a nearby 5N66M radar, according to the statement.
The strikes are said to have significantly reduced Russia’s ability to protect military units, supply lines, and critical infrastructure in the area.
“These efforts directly support Ukraine’s goal of degrading the Russian Federation’s capacity to wage war and target civilians and civilian infrastructure,” the General Staff said.
Officials did not disclose what kind of long-range weaponry was used in the operation.
“Ukraine will continue to strike until the occupiers end their invasion, our territorial integrity is restored, and a just and lasting peace is achieved,” the statement said.
