Ukrainian strike drones hit a Russian industrial facility in the city of Gubakha in the Perm region on Wednesday morning.
Dmitry Makhonin, the region’s governor, reported the attack.
According to him, no one was injured, and emergency services are currently working at the scene.
“An enemy UAV strike hit one of the industrial enterprises in Gubakha,” the governor wrote on Telegram.
The Russian official did not specify which facility the drones targeted or the extent of the damage.
Meanwhile, local chats and public pages report a possible strike at Metafrax Chemicals’ chemical plant.
The enterprise produces, among other things, urea – a chemical component used in ammonium-nitrate mixtures (ANFO), which can serve as raw material for explosive devices used in industry and theoretically for artillery shells or mines.
Although Metafrax Chemicals publicly does not associate itself with Russia’s defense industry, its parent company, Roskhim, is one of the main suppliers of chemical products for various Russian military enterprises.
The plant is located about 1,600 km from the Ukrainian border. It has been targeted by Ukrainian drones before.
In addition, on the morning of Wednesday, March 11, a drone threat alert was declared in the Perm region, and the local airport was temporarily closed under the Carpet plan.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces also struck the Russian KuibyshevAzot chemical plant in the city of Tolyatti in the Samara region.
After the strike, a fire broke out on the plant’s premises, which local residents reported seeing and filming on their phones from their windows.
